walk before you run
For July’s QuickTalk, each member made an influence map showing aspects of art history that affect their work. We’ll be posting each member’s map over the next few days, so keep watching!
I like color, patterns, and storytelling, and these are the nine people who have influenced my work.
Starting at the top left and going right: Chris Ware, Jim Henson, Johnny Kelly, Mary Blair, Aaron Douglas, John Waters, Jacqueline Groag, Bill Watterson, Charley Harper
I wasn’t able to participate in last month’s Quicktalk or theme because I was moving to a new city! I slacked on drawing due to a hurt wrist for the majority of this month, but my desk is set up and I’m ready to get back into things!
No, I’m not always secretly taking pictures of my dog… why do you ask?
Long time no see, cuties! I’ve been knee-deep in moving boxes for a couple weeks, and I’m working on getting back into things!
I recently completed a poster for Three Bone Theatre’s latest show, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress at Upstage. If you’re hanging out in Charlotte, NC in August, go out and support this lovely theatre scene!

This all looks pretty familiar if you follow my Instagram — I spent the beginning of June apartment hunting (and signing!) in Brooklyn. I don’t move my little fam until July, so I’ve been filling my time making and selling stuff and working on an upcoming show poster for Upstage Theatre in Charlotte.
June update from QDC!
